The Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, awarded Nanoscribe the first place prize at the State Prize for Young Companies (“Landespreis für junge Unternehmen”) at a ceremony held in Stuttgart on November 8th, 2018. The jury bestowed the 40,000 euros to Nanoscribe for its extraordinary innovations in the field of 3D printing on the microscale as well as the entrepreneurial successes that have been proven for years.
After the award ceremony, Martin Hermatschweiler, CEO of Nanoscribe, emphasizes, "After various product awards, we are delighted to be holding the Baden-Württemberg State Prize for Young Companies in our hands today. Our federal state has a young, flourishing start-up scene that receives valuable support from many sides. We would therefore particularly like to thank KIT and ZEISS for having accompanied Nanoscribe so professionally and comprehensively from the very beginning."
The company was founded in 2007 as a spin-off from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and quickly became a pioneer in the commercialization of a new technology called two-photon polymerization. Today, our high-tech 3D printers enable universities, scientific institutes and industrial companies to accomplish pioneering work. This technology is the key to opening up applications that were previously not feasible with other methods, particularly in the fields of photonics, micro-optics, medical engineering and communication technologies.
This year, 375 candidates from all over Baden-Württemberg applied for the award jointly bestowed every two years by the state government and the L-Bank.
