The WaveGo handheld light measurement system has earned a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019 award. The Red Dot international design competition attracts thousands of entries across multiple product categories and entry types, from consumer products and jewelry to medical devices and robotics. A blue-ribbon panel of jurists selected the winners based on criteria including innovation, functionality, durability and ergonomics.
Red Dot winners will be feted at the Red Dot Gala award ceremony on 8 July 2019 at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany. Winning entrants also are entitled to use the Red Dot winner label, an internationally respected symbol of outstanding design quality. Past awardees include Apple, GE Healthcare and Siemens.
WaveGo is a handheld device that pairs with the user’s smartphone to characterise light in buildings, museums, horticultural settings and anywhere light management is essential to health, safety and efficiency. The device is compact and elegant, and captures not only lux and intensity criteria, but also colour temperature, colour rendering, and perceived colour information.
