Senso Optics, a specialist in the design, development and production of thermal-imaging technologies and electro-optical solutions for military, paramilitary and security markets, introduces the SensoDrive, a panoramic night-driving system equipped with a thermal-imaging camera and designed to provide vehicles, armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and tanks with night-driving capability in the harsh conditions of military operations. The SensoDrive comes in two versions: the SensoDrive, which is a thermal camera on the top of the vehicle, and the SensoDrive-P, which is a Periscopic Thermal Driver Vision System for under-armour driving capabilities.
• The SensoDrive enables driving in complete darkness and could cope with all weather conditions. The SensoDrive provides clear pictures within a few seconds from power-up. It could be mounted on any vehicle by providing easy integration onto various platforms. The detector is VOx Micro-bolometer 25 micrometres (μm) with an effective resolution of 384×288 pixels and has 10.4-inch Mil-grad thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal display (LCD) monitor. A rugged display screen provides the driver with good vision in both day and night operations. The system is effective for border control units, mobile special operations forces and airport security and strategic infrastructure monitoring vehicles.

In homeland security (HLS) operations, the SensoDrive serves as the primary visual tool for the driver, enabling covert entrance into a danger zone, even in total darkness and allows easy passage through fog, smoke and dust. The device is comprised of a military grade infrared (IR) camera with a wide field of view that helps the driver maintain situational awareness. The system is compliant with Mil-std 810-F and is nitrogen-filled and sealed, helping to maintain image clarity under the harshest operational conditions. The SensoDrive is equipped with Senso Optics real-time image-processing algorithms that prevent glare by fire or heat radiant sources.
• The SensoDrive-P is a panoramic night-driving system equipped with a thermal-imaging camera and designed to provide tanks and APCs with night-driving capability in the harsh conditions of military operations. Designed to fit in the small spaces of almost any armed vehicle, SensoDrive-P allows combat driving through hostile environment. SensoDrive-P provides a panoramic wide angle of view to allow the driver a realistic perspective of the route and objects.
SensoDrive-P enables covert entrance into a danger zone, even in total darkness and allows protected passage through fog, smoke and dust. It is comprised of a military grade thermal (IR) camera fit into a small periscope with a wide field of view that helps the driver maintain situational awareness without being exposed to threats. SensoDrive-P complies with Mil-Std-810 and is nitrogen-filled and sealed, maintaining image clarity under the harshest operational conditions.
SensoDrive-P is equipped with Senso Optics real-time image-processing algorithms that prevent glare by fire or heat radiant sources. A display screen provides the driver with panoramic vision both in day and night operations. SensoDrive-P is effective for driving under-armour in APCs, armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) and tanks. It uses a Micro bolometer 25μm, 384×288 resolution uncooled sensor with WFOV 57° horizontal × 43° vertical. The display is a folded 7-inch TFT LCD display, 800×480 resolution. Total weight is 2.3 kilograms operation-ready.
