Cree, Inc. announces the XSPR Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Residential Street Light, which delivers lighting while consuming only about one-third the energy at an initial cost as low as $99 USD for common applications.
The new Cree XSPR Street Light, available at 25 watts (W) and 42W, is a suitable replacement for municipalities and cities using high-pressure sodium fixtures up to 100W and can deliver payback in less than one year, based on a municipal usage of 12 hours per day and the US national average of $0.11 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) electric costs.
Cree’s NanoOptic Precision Delivery Grid optic technology achieves better optical control than traditional street lighting fixtures and delivers uniform white light. In addition to its initial cost and energy savings, the XSPR Street Light is backed by Cree’s 10-year warranty. The XSPR LED Residential Street Light is sold through Cree lighting sales channels.
