DILAS Fibre-Coupled, Multi-Bar Laser Module

DILAS, the diode laser company, announced a fibre-coupled, multi-bar diode laser module. This micro-channel-cooled unit can deliver up to 6 kilowatt (kW) output at a wavelength mix of 9xx nanometres (nm) through 1000 micrometres (µm), 0.22 numerical aperture (NA) fibre. It combines multi-kW fibre-coupled diode laser power with a small footprint and high efficiency. The 19-inch (~48-centimetre) rack-mountable unit is designed to meet the requirements for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers and system integrators.

The fibre-coupled, multi-bar diode laser module is designed as a beam source without an integrated power supply and without a cooling unit, allowing system integrators deep access into their machine. The module is equipped with internal electronic sensor elements, which monitor the important parameters such as humidity, temperature operating current and other parameters, to ensure safe operation of the unit. In addition, the unit is equipped with a pilot beam for positioning purposes.

Typical applications are cladding, brazing, hardening and heat conduction welding. With its fibre interface based on a quantum dot (QD) fibre connector, it can be combined with many commercially available processing optics.
