Excelitas Technologies Corp. an industrial technology manufacturer focused on delivering photonic solutions, introduces its enhanced CIPRM - Coherent InGaAs PIN Balanced Receiver Module. The upgraded CIPRM features two low-noise, well-matched photodiodes to ensure a high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of typically 30dB, as well a redesigned housing to enhance electromagnetic immunity for an improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
The enhanced product’s high-performance InGaAs photodiodes and low noise, high gain transimpedance amplifier offer a practical solution to detect small changes above the interfering noise floor of incoming signal, with the advantage of cancelling out common optical noise. The CIPRM modules come in a robust casing with flange mounting holes to secure the module to working surfaces or platforms. Combined with a wide operating temperature range, the CIPRM can work in some of the toughest and harshest environments such as wind LiDAR applications.
The upgraded CIPRM features two optical inputs (single mode fiber in -1 series and FC connectorized in -2 series), an RF output, electrical supply inputs and two photo-current monitor outputs. Excelitas’ series of optical balanced receiver modules are designed and built to be fully compliant with the European Union’s RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU.
“Excelitas low-light-level detection modules meet the requirements for a variety of wind LiDAR, analytical, life science and biomedical applications,” said Richard Simons, Product Manager, Low Level Light Detection at Excelitas. “These latest upgrades to the CIPRM Series of balanced optical receivers completes our full product offering – providing an ideal option for engineers utilizing coherent detection techniques in harsh environments.”
