InterOpto 2018 PowerPhotonic to present fabrication method for axicon optics

PowerPhotonic, expert in the field of high precision micro-optics, has announced that Julian Hayes, sales and marketing director, will be presenting a paper on Generating Trident and Bessel Beams Using High-Precision Axicons at the forthcoming InterOpto 2018, Makuhari Messe, Japan on 17–19 October 2018.

Lasers are increasingly used in materials processing applications, including cutting, welding, drilling and soldering. Substantial improvements can be made to these processes by using a shaped laser beam. Axicons can be used to create a variety of shaped beams depending on the laser source. This presentation will focus on the design, implementation and characterization of high-efficiency axicon optics in UV-fused silica, manufactured using PowerPhotonic’s unique freeform laser micro-machining process.

Julian will be presenting on 17 October 10:30-11:15 a.m. at Presentation B in the exhibition hall. He will also be on-hand throughout the day at the Prolinx Corporation booth, L-2 in the InterOpro, to discuss PowerPhotonic’s complete range of cutting edge micro-optics, focussing particularly on how easy our products are to use.
