Lumics GmbH in Berlin announced the broadening of its portfolio of single-mode fibre-pigtailed butterfly 14-pin modules with internal temperature control and monitor photodiode. The Lumics’ hermetically sealed BTF14 modules are manufactured as per Telcordia standard GR-468-CORE. The wavelength range so far covers 793 nanometres (nm) to 1100nm.
Recently Lumics’ added 786nm to that product line as a standard wavelength. So, modules can now be delivered, also for low volume, for the following wavelengths: 786, 793, 808, 850, 915, 980, 1012, 1025, 1032, 1064, 1070, and 1080nm. Other customised wavelengths between 750nm and 1100nm can be manufactured on request.
The modules can be either driven continuous wave (CW) or pulsed. They are available depending on the wavelength with up to 500 milliwatts (mW) output power CW or up to 2 watts (W) pulsed. Lumics offers all BTF 14-pin modules with a laser diode driver (e.g., as a compact, table-top solution).
Lumics’ BTF14 modules are also available in alternative configurations:
• Polarisation maintaining fibre up to 12 decibel (dB) extinction ratio
• Fibre Bragg grating with spectral width from 1nm in standard configuration down to 0.15 picometres (pm)
• Wavelength locking in pulsed operation down to 3 nanoseconds (ns) for fibre laser seeding or temperature sensing
• With standard connectors such as SMA, FC/PC or FC/APC
