Spectra-Physics, a Newport Company, introduces Spirit One, a new industrial femtosecond laser designed to deliver cost-performance. With ultrashort <400 fs pulse width, >30 µJ pulse energy and >3 W average power output, and a repetition rate of up to 1 MHz, the “It’s in the Box” laser combines power supply and laser head in a single package. At 1030 nm wavelength, Spirit One could enable advancements in high precision applications, including microsurgery, femtosecond micromachining, medical device manufacturing, optogenetics and multiphoton microscopy.
Spirit One provides additional flexibility with a new adjustable pulse duration option, allowing the user to chose pulse durations between 400 fs and 3 ps by software in seconds. The laser includes an integrated pulse picker for fast pulse selection and power control for high process throughput.
Spirit One is based on the Spirit industrial femtosecond laser platform and has passed environmental qualification testing for reliability. Fully automated and computer controlled, Spirit One is designed to provide power and beam pointing stability during 24/7 operation.
Spectra-Physics’s Spirit One laser will be featured at SPIE Photonics West 2015 at booth #1401
