Frankfurt Laser Laser Diode

Frankfurt Laser Company (FLC) is a supplier of FP, DFB and DBR laser diodes, SM individually addressable and broad area laser diode arrays, VCSELs and Quantum Cascade Lasers. Also offered, incorporated into products are laser diode modules free space and fiber-coupled, DPSS lasers and OEM modules. Their products cover 266nm to 14µm wavelength and 5mW to 3000W power range.

Frankfurt Laser will be exhibiting in booth 8145 at BIOS and in booth 145 at Photonics West.

The following describes the wide-range of products offered by Frankfurt Laser:

  • New High Power Diode Laser Systems

FLC offers now high power diode laser systems with fiber output and optical power up to 3000W. The system can be operated in CW or modulated mode with repetition frequency up to 20kHz. Standard features are aiming beam, RS232 interface and IP54 protection rating. Main applications are cladding, welding and heat treatment.

  • High Power Pulse Laser Diodes

The FLC-905-110P-UA is a pulse multimode laser diode with a peak power of 110W at 905nm. It is available in a 5.6mm package. The laser diode is suitable for the use in various opto-electronic applications, like range finding, surveying equipment, weapons simulation, laser radar, obstacle detection. Further applications are in the medical and automotive field.

  • High Power Yellow Laser Modules

These High Power Yellow Laser Modules (GLM-5XX-1000) from Lasence are available with wavelength 561nm, 573nm and 589nm. The output power is 1W free beam with 5mm beam diameter and <2mrad divergence.

  • Micro Green Laser Module

This ultra-compact Micro Green Laser Module (GLM-532-001-X-3.710-ACC) from Lasence has a size of 3.7mm in diameter and a length of 10mm. Despite this small size the laser module has an average output power of up to 3mW and can be offered with an operation temperature range from 

-30 °C to +50 °C. The rise time is just 0.2 seconds. High reliability and reverse voltage protection are self-evident.

  •  Green Single Frequency Laser

This Green Single Frequency Laser (GLM-532-100-SLM) from Lasence is a very compact, single longitudinal mode light source with excellent power stability (<2%) and low noise (<0.3%). With a line width of just 1MHz it is the ideal laser for applications like laser printing, spectroscopy, cell sorting, DNA sequencing, wafer inspection or particle counting. The output power is 100mW at wavelength 532nm. The coherence length is >50m.

  •  Green Laser Torch

The Green Laser Torch from Lasence is a compact, battery operated searchlight. The focus is adjustable and the effective distance at night is more than 1km. Due to the water & dust proof housing (IP65) and a wide operation temperature range it is optimal suitable for the use in harsh ambient conditions. Further features are a fast rise time and a high reliability.

  • High Power Line Laser Modules

The laser modules of the ML2040-Series deliver high output power up to 2W and have very small footprint of 110mm x 40mm and are ideal for the use in industrial applications with harsh environmental conditions. The offered wavelengths range from 405nm to 1060nm. Apart from round and line beam, other beam shapes like grids, circles or line and dot arrays are available. The line beam has sharp rectangular shape with homogenous power distribution along the line. The housing is electrically isolated and keeps the protection class IP65 (IP67 optional) conditions. TTL modulation up to 1MHz and analogue modulation up to 100 kHz are optionally available. The power stability is <1% over 24 hours.

  • Laser Diode Modules with Single Mode Fiber Output

The new series ML1xxFC are laser diode modules with a single mode fiber output. The wavelength range is from 405nm to 1550nm. The power out of the SM fiber can be up to 100mW. The operating temperature range is from -10°C to +50°C. With dimensions of 12.6mm to 15mm in diameter and 40mm in length (without connector) they are very compact. As an option these modules are offered with potentiometer for power adjustment, external TTL modulation up to 1MHz and analogue modulation up to 100kHz.

  • Mini Green DPSS Laser with up to 50mW

The Mini Green DPSS Lasers FELM-532-XXT have a similar small size like a TO56 can (Ø5.6 x 6.5mm) and are available with output powers of 20mW, 30mW and 50mW. The wavelength is 532nm with high color purity and strong mono-chromaticity due to an integrated infrared filter on the output window. The wide operating temperature range (-20 - 45°C) allows the usage in a wide range of applications. The energy consumption is very low which saves supply power. Additionally it has an integrated photodiode to measure the output power, which allows using it with APC circuit and achieving high power stability. The beam coming from the laser has the size of ~2mm x 2mm with divergence of ~10° in both directions.

  • LED Mini-Spectrometer

The LED Mini-Spectrometer is a new ultra-compact, lightweight instrument for spectral analysis in the near-infrared range 1.3 - 2.4 μm. It enables very fast and simple measurement procedure of various samples - solids, liquids, powders. The main part of the device is the optical block comprised of 12 near-infrared LEDs with different emission peaks (~1.31µm, 1.45µm, 1.51µm, 1.55µm, 1.66µm, 1.76µm, 1.84µm, 1.94µm, 2.06µm, 2.16µm, 2.21µm, 2.36µm) and a wideband photodiode. The LEDs are turned on one by one and irradiate the analyzed sample. Emission reflected back from the sample is captured by the photodiode, converted into electrical signals that are further processed by the electronic block and the software. Operation with the mini-spectrometer is arranged via the special software provided with the device. It enables fast data acquisition, display and storage. 

Range of Applications: 

Express analysis of food (for example, defining deviations from the normal parameters judged by the absorption properties of the analyzed sample) 

Analysis of biomaterials for medical purposes (for example, concentration of sugar in blood, urine etc.) 

Moisture control (for example, moisture control of paper, wood, constructional materials etc.) 

Water concentration measurement in cut-oil and oil products; etc.

  • High Brightness Air-cooled Fiber-coupled Blue Diode Laser Module

The FACH-450-13W-FC105-AC is a 450nm diode laser module which delivers 13W from a 105µm fiber. Special features of the laser module is forced air-cooling and compact design. The laser diode temperature can be regulated by TEC and allows the usage within an ambient temperature range of 5-40°C. Main applications are plastic material processing and precise micro-soldering on PCB, it is also well suitable for 3D printing and other industrial, medical, scientific and laser display applications.
