OpticStudio 14 has been engineered for the way you work with a redesigned user interface that minimises mouse clicks. Ribbon menus make finding tools and settings quick and simple. A System Explorer sidebar enables data entry and system data editors now feature familiar spreadsheet controls, including cut and paste, directly to/from Microsoft Excel and other programs. Windows management capabilities allow you to customise the workspace.
OpticStudio 14 features a new graphics engine for design visualisation and computer-aided design (CAD)-like control, making it easier to create 2D and 3D models with dynamic cutting surfaces, options to view as a shaded solid or wireframe model plus intuitive controls to pan, rotate, tilt and zoom to investigate every detail. When precise design validation is mandatory, OpticStudio 14 comes equipped with 2D and 3D charting tools. With it you can interactively explore data points, rescale and rotate charts to view data from all angles, modify colours, view false colour or interrogate a data table with a single click. Charts and models can be exported for use in reports and presentations.
OpticStudio 14 improves system performance with advanced data architecture. A "calculate once, analyse many" methodology and graphics processing unit (GPU)-accelerated graphics and charting combine with 64-bit multi-thread multi-CPU capabilities for fast simulation, analysis and optimisation. Calculated data saves directly to the file so there is never a lag time when reopening a design.
