Hamamatsu Photonics has unveiled a new sealed-type MFX that combines the advantages of a high-accuracy open-type MFX and the easy maintenance of a sealed-type MFX. The L12531 has a compact, lightweight design and low power consumption, according to its maker.
Using a transmission target, this new sealed-type MFX achieves a high resolution of 2 micrometers at 2 W, high magnification and a wide radiation angle of 120 degrees. It is suited for X-ray non-destructive inspection of a range of objects, including printed circuit boards, electronic components and more.
X-ray inspection is a technique that provides information about the internal structure of objects, such as semiconductor devices, that are not visible externally. The accuracy of this technique depends on the microfocus X-ray source used to generate X-rays.
