Andor Technology, an Oxford Instruments company and a specialist in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solution, announced the launch of the new Solis 64-bit acquisition software for imaging and spectroscopy. Solis is now a fully 64-bit enabled application for Windows (XP, Vista 7 and 8) offering functionality for data acquisition and processing. The latest release of Solis (Version 4.24) has 64-bit support available. Solis 64-bit can now use all available PC RAM for storing image frames. This increases the total number of frames captured to memory by orders of magnitude.
In addition, Andor is launching a new service, the Andor File Exchange. This is a customer portal for the exchange of user-made files, scripts and applications in AndorBasic, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW and other coding platforms. This service allows users to share and download code snippets and applications suitable for a range of Andor software packages. If users have custom code of their own, written for a specific or general purpose, they can upload it, link to it via their own public profile and share it with the world at the Andor File Exchange. In addition, the Andor File Exchange enables users to download, review and rate all the applications or contact their creators with any specific questions or requirements.
