Knight Optical’s germanium glass material is designed for IR applications with its broad transmission range and opacity in the visible portion of the spectrum.
Knight Optical’s germanium windows are not only used in IR sensors, medical applications and pyrometry but also in IR imaging systems and thermographic cameras.
Knight Optical’s germanium windows are typically operating in the 2 µm to 14 µm spectral range, which covers the LWIR (8-12μm) and MWIR (3-5μm) thermal imaging wavelength range.
Knight Optical’s germanium windows are available from stock, custom size and shape with anti-reflection coatings on one or both sides, and/or with hard carbon diamond coatings.
Custom coatings for germanium windows available on request and to specific requirement with up to 300 mm diameters.
