Newport Corporation, a specialist in photonic solutions, is introducing the PEPS series of optical power, energy and position sensors. In addition to laser power and single shot energy, these versatile new quadcell thermopile sensors can also accurately measure the position of a laser beam. When connected to a compatible Newport power meter, the detectors can track beams with 0.1 mm positional accuracy. The PMManager software included with the detector also allows for beam stability measurement.
“The bundled PMManager software provides a visual representation of the laser beam drift over time in a two-dimensional histogram,” says Jay Jeong, Sr. Manager Product Marketing at Newport. “Users can easily see the pattern of the beam drift over time. The data for the X and Y positions as well as the optical power can be logged and downloaded for further analysis or recording purposes.”
The PEPS optical power, energy and position sensors are compatible with Newport 1919-R, 843-R series, and 841-PE-USB power meters.
