With a pixel readout rate of 20 megahertz (MHz) for the three standard sizes of back-illuminated grade 1 scientific electron multiplying charge-coupled device (EMCCD) detectors including 1024×1024, Nüvü Caméras Inc. has a variety of imaging methods with fast frame rates for photon-counting imaging at megapixel resolution.
The thermoelectrically cooled HNü camera offers one of the highest single-photon detection probabilities (more than 91%) and high image quality. The company uses proprietary technology at the basis of its electron-generating sub-electron readout noise.
Fundamentally lower levels of noise combined with cameras operating at a temperature of -85°C (-121°F) allow frame rates exceeding 17, 67 and 975 images per second for the three standard sizes of EMCCD detectors (1024×1024, 512×512, 128×128).
