The Model 290 from Resolve Optics is a motorized 6x non-browning zoom lens with a range of mechanical options to optimally suit different applications that may be subject to radiation.
The Model 290 is a versatile non-browning zoom lens that is widely used in nuclear fuel handling operation, reactor active zones and radioactive waste storage plants. For applications where space is limited the version of the Model 290 with concentric motor is recommended. In environments subject to electronic interference a version of the Model 290 is available with noise suppression to minimise degradation of optical performance.
Employing special cerium doped glass elements, the Model 290 can withstand long-term exposure to high levels of radiation (up to a total dose of 100,000,000 rad) and temperature (55 °C) without loss of transmission. Zoom, focus and iris movements on the Model 290 are motorized using radiation-tolerant DC-motors to facilitate remote operation in hazardous environments. Operating at f/1.8 the Model 290 provides high image resolution and minimum geometric distortion throughout the spectral region 400-750nm. The Model 290 is optimised for use with single chip 1/2" and 2/3" CCTV cameras as well as Newvicon and Chalnicon tubes.
Over the last 25 years Resolve Optics developed a comprehensive range of non-browning (radiation resistant) fixed format and zoom lenses for use in environments subject to radiation. All these lenses are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and performance. In keeping with Resolve Optics tradition of designing unique lenses the company is also able to provide custom non-browning lenses to meet exact specifications.
