Creativity flows with the use of optics in the entertainment industry which brings Knight Optical to ‘the edge of glory’. One of our loyal customers approached us for a custom right angle prism and we found out it was used for a laser piano for the world tour of the one and only Lady Gaga.
Todd, one of our senior technical sales advisers, discussed with the customer what was needed to achieve the perfect right angle prism for their application. Knight Optical provided an AR coating for the visible applied to two of the faces, which would enhance the right angle prism. Once manufactured it was fully tested to specification in our metrology laboratory on equipment like the TriOptics PrismMaster and the Starrett AV300 video imaging system. It was then inspected, cleaned and packaged with our quality assurance team.
